Time to nominate students for the MISTI Excellence Awards! Nominations are due Friday, March 18. See attached guidelines and forms.

Hackathons

The comm team will be present in E40 on Thursdays 2/10 and 2/24 from 11-1. Come brainstorm about your website and learn more about how to incorporate Program Cards. Primacy will also have a developer standing by to help with technical questions. Invites to come!

International Festival (slated 5/25)

We have been offered the opportunity to host our international celebration as an unofficial part of commencement week! We would like to have student performances, community partners, and food trucks. If you are interested in participating, put your thinking caps on now. I will reach out for ideas and information in the coming weeks.

Last Call for GSF printed booklets!

Please update this worksheet with your printed GSF booklet needs (if any) by Friday at 10 am.

MISTI Roundup 1/18/2022

Student recommendation needed

OEL is running an experiential learning workshop on 1/29 and they need a few more student facilitators. My list of current students has been tapped, so I was hoping for recommendations. The goal is to find students who have had at least one or two (ideally more) positive ELO experiences who can lead activities and answer first-year student questions.

I&E participants for StartMIT virtual fair tomorrow

Tomorrow (1/19) we have been invited to join the SmartMIT virtual fair. Comm will attend and present an overview slide, but we would also love to have PMs available to chat with students. The fair runs from 9:30 am to 11:45 am EST, but you will only need to be available at the end for 45-60 minutes. Let comm know if you are interested and we will update you on the exact time!

GSF next steps

The Selection Board deadline is 2/1. Please be sure to prioritize reaching out to potential members over the next few weeks. A reminder, it would be very helpful if you could update this worksheet with your printed booklet needs (if any) by Wednesday EOD.

Update office time for February

Now that word has come down about the spring schedule, please update the staff calendar with your WFH and vacation plans.

Hackathon postponed

Since we are presently off-campus, we will move the hackathon to February. Dates TBD!

Who’s abroad?

If you have students abroad, please share their names with Amanda. She would like to email them and ask them to share and hashtag their media content.
